The cauda equina are the nerves that spread out from the base of the spine, which is literally the "horse's tail."
Damage to the cauda equina can cause a loss of power and sensation in the legs and it is common for the bladder and bowels to be affected, it is often a cauda equina lesion that causes this to happen.
If the spinal nerve roots are not crushed, they can often recover from the cauda equina lesion.
Cauda Equina Lesion claims
